Hyejin, Jeong
Hi. I’m Hyejin from South Korea and 23-years-old.
I came to IICD Michigan in late April and now I’m training as Fight Poverty team since this July.
Before I came here, I studied sociology in university and I was committed to my major. I think sociology is not just academic study but also it teaches ‘the way of life’. So since I studied sociology, I’m seeking for ‘right’ way of my life.
I’m not sure whether I’m on the right way or not.
But I just want to live in a better world, and find a way to make better society.
yeah, of course I know that I cannot change anything.
I’m just ordinary human being and nothing is gonna be change by me.
I’m not that naive person who believes fairy tale or a dreamer.
But at the same time, I believe do something is better than do nothing. If I did nothing to change this world, I would feel guilty. I feel I should do something even if I couldn’t change at all. That’s why I’m here.
Actually I hardly ever heard about Belize before.
For me, Belize is like a kind of the unknown world.
So now I’m on the way to learn about Belize and I’m excited at this work.
I’ll do my best then keep going that until we’ll finish our project.
